Mind Food

This morning was a weird morning for me. I did a lot of reflecting. On my way to work, I usually talk to God in prayer. This morning though, I was distracted and sort of disturbed by my dreams I had the night before. I started out in the dream by walking with two people. Note these are two people who I didn’t know personally, but I remember their faces because I follow them on one of my social media pages. While walking with them, some really weird things started happening in my dream. I cant go into detail now, but I can tell you that I woke up so disturbed. I was wondering why I dreamt what I dreamt. Here’s the part that made me think; why was I walking with those two people? I don’t know them personally. Their social media name is “Mind food.” So as I began praying to God in the car, I said ” why was I walking with ‘Mind food’?”. Right there God gave me clear understanding. The people weren’t as significant to the dream as their name was. Mind food. What are we feeding our subconscious mind? The bible says in Proverbs that we should guard our hearts because out of it flows the issues of life. What ever we let into our heart or our mind in this case, we begin to subconsciously think on them. How do these things get there? Well sometimes its simply by the shows we watch. Sometimes it’s the things that may have happened to us in the past that we seem to “regurgitate” every now and then– even though we thought we had let it go. So what does a person do in a situation like this? Well simple, Ask God to clear those things from your mind. Be intentional about what you allow your spirit to take in. We were actually spiritual beings before we received our body. Did you know that? Before you were born, God knew you. How? Well because we were spiritual beings before. We were made in God’s image. The spirit living inside of us is housed by a body. So while taking care of our body by working out and eating well, let’s take time to make sure our spiritual being and our mind is doing well. The bible tells us how to do this. In Philippians 4:8 (KJV) it say, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” What does your mind food look like? What are you thinking on?
